Web Development Introduction

Web Development

Today, web apps have to be platform-independent and work with all browsers. Content should be optimally displayed on the PC, tablet or smartphone with different screen resolutions. These tasks belong to the professional field of a web developer (web developer), an expert whose work is in high demand in many companies and is well rewarded. Anyone who loves independence and would rather choose their own projects also has good chances as a freelancer in the IT area.

Tasks of a web developer:

In contrast to the web designer, whose activities are mainly focused on the graphic elements of an app, the web developer mainly focuses on programming. A web developer takes care of the development, further development and maintenance of the numerous programs and apps of a website and the smooth interaction with the users. In reality, however, it usually looks different, the tasks of a web designer and a web developer are often carried out by one person. Especially as a freelancer or freelancer, a web developer should be able to cover both areas.

The tasks of a web developer include the development, further development and implementation of websites using the latest web technologies. Responsive web design, i.e. the uniform presentation of content on different screen sizes, is also an important topic in web development.

Even without current knowledge from the areas of SEO, online marketing or conversion, you can not get by in this profession, because even the best websites are pointless if they are not found by the search engines and are not ranked high in the ranking. As a rule, a prototype (dummy) is created for each project, which already contains all important elements of the site. This prototype is tested for important functions such as navigation, database connection, user interface and feasibility before the actual task is started.

What skills does a web developer need?

In hardly any other professional field is the number of career changers as large as that of the web developer. A high level of further training is announced during the activity, since the knowledge acquired during the training is usually not sufficient in the long term and technological progress takes place very quickly here. The Internet is characterized by rapid changes and daily innovations that you have to learn in this profession. That is why the willingness for regular further training is part of the job description of a web developer, like classes for object-oriented programming.

Web developers mostly work in teams and are in direct contact with the customer. That is why social skills are of course necessary.

So-called "No SQL" database systems are currently being hyped in particular, which are particularly impressive due to their very good scalability compared to classic relational DBMS. Because of the many broad and often very high requirements, some developers specialize in one or two areas, such as programming web applications with XY technology or creating high-performance database structures.

In addition to the technical skills, a web developer should have creativity and perseverance and offer innovative solutions. Good or very good knowledge of the English language can also be very important, depending on your orientation.

The most important tool is the safe handling of programming or scripting languages such as Java (Enterprise Edition), JavaScript, Python, Ruby, C #, Perl and PHP as well as special frameworks. Front-end technologies such as HTML5, XML or CSS3 are often used in the projects. Knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Sybase, Adabas and their client-server applications is also important.

How do you become a web developer (training / studies)?

The job title web developer is not protected in Germany, there is currently no recognized training occupation. In most cases, applicants have a degree in computer science, IT or media informatics. Lateral entrants come from technically oriented subjects or creative courses with subsequent training.

Numerous institutes and educational institutions offer further training as web developers. The training measures can also be carried out part-time as distance learning and are completed with a certificate. The further training measures usually include an internship at agencies and other companies. It is not uncommon for interns to be taken on immediately after completing their training.
Where can I work as a web developer? What salary can I expect?
Website developers work as freelancers or as employees of startups, agencies and medium-sized or large companies. While a freelancer selects his customers largely independently, the web developer as an employee is assigned the customers, projects and deadlines by his superior. Many companies find it difficult to meet the need for web developers, so the job prospects are currently very good.

Regardless of the size of a company, the job requirements are often very demanding and complex. The companies reward the high qualification with an entry-level salary of 32,000 to 40,000 euros.

Cities:

In big cities and metropolitan areas, earnings tend to be at the upper limit. The subsequent income largely depends on the professional career and on the experience and specializations. Experienced frontend developers earn up to 70,000 euros, specialists certainly a little more. With appropriate services, there are prospects of being promoted to project manager (75,000 euros and more).

As a freelancer:

The hourly rate for freelancers is agreed with the respective client. The companies can currently be billed at around EUR 75 per hour. The competition with freelance web developers tends to increase and the costs resulting from self-employment e.g. for insurance companies, the nominally high income must be taken into account.

Coronavirus Begins To Disturb Chinese Technological Production

Coronavirus Begins To Disturb Chinese Technological Production The coronavirus outbreak in China is beginning to affect the global technology industry, with noticeable declines in shipments of devices such as graphics cards and mobile phones. Asus, Foxconn and Gigabyte  have said that first-quarter shipments of motherboards and graphics cards have fallen more than expected, British media outlet Computing has reported . This decline is explained by the fact that Chinese people avoid public places and shops, while courier delivery and other services have been affected. Meanwhile, the smartphone market is expected to be affected in two ways: first, with excess inventory in China caused by the sudden and unexpected decline in sales, and second, the halt of new models due to the pause. in supply chains, caused by factory closings, ordered by the Chinese government when the epidemic began. Huawei, in particular, is likely to be hit hard as it fell back on its home market due t...

Big Data

Data collection and interpretation are very important to the seed breeding program. Without data and its interpretation, progress is impossible. Technology will create the ability to collect new data, and the effective innovation of a successful company will result. In addition, as technology evolves, the cost of technology decreases. For example, the cost per gigabyte of storage in 1980 was $ 500,000. Today the price is less than $ 0.03. This is a huge expense for the amount of data collected. In pig breeds, there is a wave of data collection. Basic data collection includes weight, number of births, birth year, age group, wean to service time, door count, and more. These features do not require sophisticated technology. Ultrasonic balance, depth, and intramuscular oil are being collected because of advances in ultrasound technology. Improvements in body and food quality have emerged over the years, including tools to improve pH, maripling, color, and digestion. All of these factors ar...

Internet simply explained

Internet simply explained  The Internet is a worldwide network of several million computers. The computers that essentially provide services to other systems are referred to as servers. The servers are connected via Internet service providers (ISP), who manage (host) the information as Internet pages (websites, blogs, shops, email accounts etc.) and make them available to visitors (users). You can use the Internet to query information from all of these computers, send electronic messages to recipients around the world, shop around the clock, book trips, and much more. Internet history The Internet (from the English internetwork, composed of the prefix inter and network 'network' or 'net' for short) is a worldwide network of computers. It combines Internet services such as WWW, email, Telnet, Usenet and FTP. Any computer can connect to any other computer, provided you know its address. Colloquially, the Internet is also used instead of the Internet. The data exch...
